This past weekened I had the opportunity to attend the Michigan Floral Association (MFA) Contest. I competed in the college student/novice cathegory. The criteria this year was to make a bridal bouquet for a garden wedding under $50 (excluding any Oasis products- that is, bouquet holder, wire, etc...)
Here is the bouquet I made (there's lots of pictures!!!)
In the process of making it..
And here is the boutonniere. My theme was the bling (brooches), so I incorporated that into the boutonniere as well.
These pictures were taken once I got home from Grand Rapids, Michigan on Sunday, four days after I made the bouquet, so the roses are kind of dead.
I also incorporated succulents and blooming branches..
The Succulents
Here is the recipe for it:
Three Echiveria (Succulents)
7 Free Spirited Standard Rose
9 Stems of Pink Ranunculus
1/4 bunch blooming branches
7 stems Hypericum Berries
1/3 bunch Purple Statice
1/8 bunch Seeded Eucalyptus
Booxwood (filler)
And I used 6 brooches in the bouquet and a cameo lock on the handle
If you want to know how I atteached the brooches or the succulents, leave a comment below and I'll make a little tutorial!
There were a lot of cool floral arrengements at the competition, but I don't know if I can post pictures of other people's designs

P.S. I got third place in the competition!
Good one! I have taken the responsibility of decorating one of the finest wedding venues for my sister’s wedding and she loves flowers. Therefore, I have to pick up the best ones for the decoration. It was wonderful coming across this post. I liked it a lot and have saved it as well.
