I've been wanting a real dress form for a looooong time (over 3 years).. And I finally found one!!
A Mark Shale store was closing down in a near by mall, and all their mannequines were $10!!!!
(well, the very nice ones sold as soon as they were up for sale, but they were over $150)

The mannequin is like a size xs with "perfect" measurements, so I have some adjusting to do..
We'll see how that goes.. I'll keep you in the loop.
(these are the nice mannequins with cool stands and everything)

This is my mannequin
The stand is not as cool, but it works! The only downside is that the overall height of the mannequin is about 2 inches shorter than me!! Aaaaaand, look at the bottom.. I will be able to fit pants on as well... Cool
I used to have a duct tape dress form I made in High School in sewing clas. It helped me make my 3 prom dresses and a homecoming one, but I didn't like the fact that every time I took a pin out it would have some glue recidue and I'd have to be very careful at removing the recidues from my dress' fabric and the pin itself..
(This is not my dress form, this image is from here, but mine looked kind of like that, except with no arms and a bit shorter.. You get the idea) |
I am so excited!!!!!!! Now I just have to edit it so it has my measurements. Anyone has an idea of how to do this? I thought of adding padding..
I'll keep you updated!
And I'm thinking of making her a new cover or can I just buy one already made?
Anyone knows where I could get a dress form cover?
